Even though Scoutware is an intuitive, easy to use tool, we recognize training needs can vary greatly depending on key factors such as a persons background, level of comfort with technology, desire to learn, time to spend, etc. For every type of user, from old school coach to the text happy graduate assistant, all the education you'll ever need is included within the umbrella of the Scoutware license.

Specifically, there is never a charge for beginner training, learning new functionality, classes on applied and advanced technique (graphics, articles, letterhead, etc), and there is no charge for refresher courses. Take them as often as you need to. If you need to take a course again, no problem - it's covered. New coach on staff? Same rules apply. No extra charge.

Since Scoutware was founded in 2001, we have trained over 2,000 coaches with varying levels of computer literacy. We tailor our training sessions to meet the specific needs of our clients and focus not just on how to use Scoutware but how to use it to accomplish your goals.

We offer introductory and ongoing training in several formats, including written documentation, multimedia tutorials, webinars, and most importantly one-on-one customized training sessions. This dedicated after-sales service offers personal information and assistance on all the details to ensure you are getting the most out of Scoutware.

A majority of our training sessions occur one-on-one right over the phone at your convenience. We use cutting edge web conferencing tools that allow viewers to gain hands on experience step by step and view our computer screen at the same time.

I. Introductory Training


Scoutware's initial training is a comprehensive session covering all functions on your Scoutware site.

Topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Adding and updating records
  • Creating and using lists
  • Understanding and using search results
  • Building your email distribution List
  • Composing and sending email messages
  • How to use email tracking features
  • Sending text messages
  • Adding and maintaining staff profiles

II. Graphics Training

Scoutware's second training session covers creating your own full-color graphics and placing them right into your Scoutware site. From the beginner to advanced user, we'll show you step-by-step how to cut and paste photos, links, and articles about your program, load them, and send a personalized email to an entire list in just a few minutes.

Every Scoutware license includes Snag IT [link to www.snagit.com], a screen capture and image editing program.

Using Snag It, you can easily (and quickly) create compelling graphical images that stand out in emails. Better yet, if you already know your way around Photoshop or Microsoft Publisher, this training will help you apply your skills to Scoutware for maximum benefit.

In addition, our team of former college coaches and administrative staff prodive our clients with ideas and guidance on ways to highlight every aspect of their program, because some of the most effective emails are often the simple ones that tell a story through pictures. When you beat Rival U, what could be better than sending out an email first thing the next morning to excite all of your recruits and supporters?

With Scoutware, its easy to direct recruits and key people to your website and other news. You can make graphical images ìclickableî and steer them to online stories. Later, determine your recruitsí interest by tracking which web links they click on or which attachments they download.

III. Advanced Graphics Training

For those coaches who want to take their custom graphics even further, we're happy to teach you how to create interactive content including letterheads, e-newsletters and e-camp brochures.

HOW-TO DOCUMENTS

After your initial trainings, our client services is available to answer your questions 24-7. However, we also provide written reference documents to supplement what you have learned in your trainings. These documents serve as a 'How To' for many basic as well as advanced Scoutware topics, and are also available free of charge.

ONLINE TUTORIALS

Our client services staff is also pleased to announce the availability of on-line tutorials for all of our clients. Whether you are hard at work at 2pm or 2am, you'll be able to access our comprehensive online library of reference materials at no extra cost.
