Scoutware was instrumental in spreading the word to college football
coaches about the third annual QBI Football Clinic, held May 14th at Maine
South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois. At the event, the top 100 Illinois
high school junior quarterbacks, receivers and linemen were selected to participate
in various drills and skill challenges.
As an NCAA-compliant instructional clinic, it served as an open forum
for any coaches to attend in order to watch the players while they learn
new drills and refine techniques. No fee was charged attend the event
and no testing or try-outs were conducted.
College football programs were informed of the clinic by a series of
emails, receiving biweekly email updates from Scoutware about the specific
teaching sessions and developing player roster. Questions about the forum
layout and schedule were answered individually when emails were received
back from college programs in response to information provided by Scoutware
representatives.
After the clinic, coaches were invited to socialize at the “Coach’s
Huddle,” a reception hosted by Scoutware at the Emerald Isle, a
nearby restaurant.
Attendance at this past year's QBI clinic included coaches from all four
NCAA football divisions (IA, IAA, II and III), as well as from NAIA and
junior college programs from across the country. Email distribution by
Scoutware will commence in January 2008 for the next QBI event, with the
hopes of making the 2008 clinic that much more of a success than the last.
